The Global Alliance of Organic Districts (GAOD) was established in October 2020 jointly by the Asian Local Governments for Organic Agriculture (ALGOA), the International Network of Eco-regions (IN.N.E.R.) and other partners in Asia and Europe.
Organic Districts are specific geographical areas where farmers, citizens, tourist operators, associations and public authorities enter into an agreement for the sustainable management of local resources, based on organic principles and practices and consumption models such as short value chains, group buying, public procurement (organic public canteens), etc. Goesan County holds the Co-Presidency of GAOD and the seat of the Asia Secretariat of GAOD.
